Daniel : Standing Firm in Adversity

Daniel : Standing Firm in Adversity

Living for God in the midst of a culture that is opposed to him is the challenge we face. We must stand firm to keep from being swept away by the pressures and temptations of our day. We can draw inspiration from Daniel, a political prisoner in Babylon, who stood for God under extreme pressure. He refused to conform, to compromise, to bow down, or to back down. He is a study in the art of standing firm. Not only did he survive, he thrived. He went from being a prisoner of war at 15 years old, to serving three great kings, Nebechadnezzer of the Babylonians, Belshazzar, and Darius of the Persians, and ultimately, rising to a position second only to the king. Join us as we jump into Daniel’s story over the next several weeks at Westside Church.hat is your practice? Let’s explore these themes together and learn from the experiences of others.
