Update from Kenya

My Dear Westside Friends:

I am so sorry that we have not been able to communicate with you
either by phone or e-mail since our arrival here in Kenya.  I actually
wrote an email, but when I tried to send it the computer simply froze.

Nontheless, we are safe and having quite a time.  Usually when we come
to Kenya, we have some amazing divine appointments, but this time it
is “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride”.  One amazing thing after another has
happened since we arrived.  Several days ago we got hooked up, through
an incredible series of events, with one of the Members of Parliament
(same thing as a Congressman in the US)  and spent the evening talking
with him about the challenges here in Kenya.  On the following morning
we took his wife and his aid down to the Miwani farm for a tour.  As
usual they wandered through the farm with wide eyes and were having
one revelation after the other.

The land deal is done, thanks to all who gave to make this possible.
We have some great storied to tell about how all that worked out.  We
are scheduled to have one of the Land commissioners stay at our house
in the future, she and her husband are great christians.

We have been very, very busy, day and night.  Yesterday was the “Big,
Big day as Simeon was installed as the New General Overseer of PEFA in
Kenya.  He was honored for hours by some wonderful men and women of
God.  It was a 7 hour party.

Continue to pray for us, looks like Valerie has Malaria.  We are
waiting for the second lab results right now.
