Welcome to a new kind of Bible study
Some Bible studies of reading programs are intellectual practices: reading and interpreting Scripture without necessarily inviting the Holy Spirit to speak, counsel, and illuminate. Notice how Jesus and the Apostle Paul talk about the Holy Spirit:
Jesus: “But when, he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” John 16
Paul: “The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God”
— 1 Corinthians 2
This is an exciting prospect! God the Holy Spirit will speak into our lives, revealing Jesus to us more clearly.
The Power and Presence of God is the key to fulfillment in life, in love, in forgiveness, in faith, in struggle, in embracing God’s grace and mercy. Take a step out of your comfort zone, and let the Holy Spirit speak to you.
