Somebody Cares Holiday Giving Campaign
Our annual holiday giving campaign "Somebody Cares" is back! There are several ways you can get involved to make this holiday season a bit brighter for those who are in need. We have four main goals this year that are aimed at helping people both locally and abroad.
- We are putting together 12 Thanksgiving food packages for those in need. If you know of an individual, or family who is in need this season, please contact us and let us know. Also, if you would like to contribute food items to this project, please contact the church office, or grab a Turkey feather from the display in the foyer at Westside church.
- We are collecting warm blankets and clothing for the homeless to be distributed through the Union Gospel Mission. Please bring any clothing, or blankets you would like to contribute and drip them off at the collection barrel at Westside church. Also, if you would like to join a "Rescue Van" team from Westside, you can help distribute these items to the homeless men and women on the streets of Seattle.
- We are providing 100 Christmas gifts for the youth at the King County Juvenile Detention Center. If you would like to prepare a gift, pick up a list at Westside church, or contact us via email.
- This years' Christmas offering will be taken for the children's feeding program fund. Our goal is to raise $5,000 in order to provide 1 meal a day to over 200 kids living in the slums of Nairobi. 2011 marks our fifth consecutive year running this program! Consider what you might give this year in order to be a blessing to those in need this Christmas season.
