"Planted" sermon series begins June 24th

Human life began in a garden.  Adam literally sprang to life out of the dirt!  His mission was to be fruitful and multiply on the earth (grow a family for God).  As well, he was commissioned to tend the garden God had placed him in, to care for it and ensure its fruitfulness.   From the creation story, we learn that life is about growth. Today, however, we don’t often view our lives as being organic in nature.  We are much more familiar with the language of technology and machines.   We tend to view our brains as computers and our bodies as machines.  Needless to say, this has had great implications on how we define our lives as human beings.  Join us at Westside this summer as we deconstruct these mechanical narratives and return to the original story.  This is a story that begins in a garden.  Let’s get planted!

Here's some of the themes we will be exploring in this series:

  • "It all began in the Garden"
  • "The Parable of the Sower"
  • "The Parable of the Mustard Seed"
  • "The Vine and the Branches"
  • "Planted by Streams of Water"
  • "Kernal of Wheat"
  • "The Wheat and the Tares"
  • "Sowing and Reaping"
