New sermon series: The Church
Fit both of your hands together in a fist then repeat after me, "here is the church, here is the steeple, open the doors and see all the people". For many of us that has been the extent of the teaching we have received about "the church". It's a building with doors, a steeple and people inside (at least on Sundays). Maybe it is this understanding of the church that has led many to believe that the church is useless and boring. Jesus didn't think so. He said, "I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it." What does that mean? Better yet, what does a church that treads on the gates of hell look like? Join us the next three weeks as we explore the true meaning of "the church".
