Community Groups
Our community groups play a vital role in our mission as a church to make disciples in Seattle. In this busy city, meaningful relationships often go unattended, or extinct in the activity of everyday life. Our goal is to create a place for people to come together and intentionally develop friendships.
Community groups provide an environment where people of all ages, status, and experience can study the word of God together, pray with one another, and hang out together as friends. This helps to give the church a real sense of unity and purpose. We encourage everyone at Westside to find a community group to plug into. Please contact us to find a group that fits for you.
The Alpha Course
If you're new to the church, or not currently part of a Community Group, we encourage you to consider joining the Alpha Course this fall. Alpha offers a relaxed way to get to know people in a comfortable environment. Every week we'll share a meal together and watch some humorous, down-to-earth teaching from Nicky Gumbel as we explore the big questions of Christianity.
This session will also include a couple of weeks on our church history and vision. It's a great starting point for Westside membership and ministry opportunity, and a perfect launching pad for a budding Community Group.
Kingdom Kids
Kingdom Kids is our exciting children's church ministry. It's a dynamic program that incorporates fun teaching with games, stories, and drama. It is built around three Basic Truths every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52.
- I need to make the wise choice
- I can trust God no matter what
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
We also incorporate parent involvement by sending home “Refrigerator Door” and “God Time” cards. These will allow you to see what your child has learned and reinforce it throughout the week while spending time together.
MOPS: Mothers of Pre-Schoolers
We're mothers of preschoolers (Infant to 5 Years) getting together every other Wednesday from 9:45am to 12pm for friendship, encouragement, great advice and a good time. If you're a mom in the Seattle area, come and join our group. We guarantee you'll love it! Visit our site to learn more :: Ballard MOPS ::
Women's Bible Studies
We currently have three different Bible studies going on for women to accomodate just about any schedule.
- On alternating Wednesdays, the MOPS group meets for a Bible Study at 10am. "When Godly People Do Ungodly Things" by Beth Moore.
- On Wednesday night, "Loving Well"" by Beth Moore. Meeting at 7:00pm.
- On Thursday mornings, "I Saw the Lord" by Anne Graham Lotz. Meeting at 10:00am
