Being Led From Within

July 04, 2012

(This blog post came out of my daily reading from our 'Planted Journal'. Pick up a copy at Westside Church if you would like to participate.)

1 John 2: 27 But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.

Does Jesus offend you?

March 12, 2012

Does Jesus offend you? I know, it seems like an odd question. But, is it a fair question? He offended a lot of people. In John 6, he even offends many of his disciples. These disciples had already been following him as he traveled, preached, and healed the sick. But, now he had offended them, and they left. Would we be fooling ourselves to say that we could never be offended by Jesus? It is, afterall, very difficult for us to accept something different than what we’ve already believed.
